The outdoor recreational opportunities at Cheat Mountain Club are endless. Scenic attractions such as Gaudineer Knob, which hosts a virgin spruce forest, are only a few miles away. Other attractions include theNational Radio Astronomy Observatory, Cass Scenic Railroad State Park, the High Falls of Cheat, Snowshoe Mountain Resort, Fort Milroy and many more.

Year-round, these activities provide a great way to explore this unique and wonderful part of West Virginia. The variety of trails that are available entice the outdoor enthuisiast from the leisurly hiker to the seasoned outdoorsman seeking new areas to explore.


All the outfitting equipment that the lodge maintains, (mountain bikes, fly rods, cross- country skis, snowshoes and canoes), are free for the use of the guests. Guests are encouraged to use this equipment during their stay to take advantage of all that the mountain has to offer. Recreational opportunities include fly fishing, mountain and road biking, cross country skiing, snowshoeing, hiking, canoeing and more. Cheat Mountain Club has over eight miles of maintained trails on its own property and there are countless miles of trails in the adjacent national forest.
